The Cross Country Rentals story

Cross Country Rentals was founded in way back when. When after returning from World War 2, and seeing the utility of the land rover, our founder had the idea to import and sell Land Rovers in New Zealand. Unfortunately for him, but fortunately for us, depression hit and nobody was looking for new vehicles, so changing tact, Cross Country Rentals was born!

Fast forward a decade or two… Family owned bus business Tranzit acquired the Masterton based Cross Country Rentals in 2010 and we have never looked back!

Since then, we have grown from one little branch in Masterton with 30 vehicle, to nationwide coverage, with 12 locations and over 1200 vehicles on the road!

With a diverse fleet of Cars, 4WD Utes, Vans, Mini Buses, trucks and trailers, we can focuss on what we do best - Connecting people with the vehicle that suits their needs.

We have a wide range of roles within our organisation, including:

SESTA drivers. Providing safe and reliable transport for students with special needs getting to and from school on time during the school term. These team members are excellent communicators, physically fit with an enthusiastic, patient and caring attitude. They also drive late model vehicles that are normally based at their home.

Vehicle groomers. Making sure that our rental fleet is sparkling clean and tidy before each rental.

Operations team members. Keeping the wheels turning providing exceptional operational activities and customer service excellence.
